I just moved into my NYC apartment, which means I’m ALL for finding the best kitchen organization hacks that maximize storage – but still look pretty.

So in this post, we’ll look at the 9 kitchen organization hacks I’ve found that I will 100% be recreating in my apartment.

Kitchen Organization Hacks

1. Sponge holder and soap tray

Such a simple hack, but I love how it gives the sponge a practical and aesthetically pleasing place to live.

Needless to say, this adhesive sponge holder for the kitchen sink is a must have.

Personally, I dislike nothing more than seeing an ugly sponge on my kitchen counter.

I’m also in love with the simplicity of the soap tray.

They make your counter look nicely put together but also practical.

2. Use kitchen items as decor

If kitchen counter space is limited, why not use your kitchen items as part of the decor?

I love how the wood cutting boards are used as part of the decor while also serving a practical purpose.

3. Utilize the top of the fridge

In a small kitchen, every inch of space counts. I love how this picture shows us how to utilize the top of the fridge.

Get a shelf organizer like this, to store extra items like olive oil bottles, condiments or other things that look aesthetically pleasing enough to be out in the open.

4. Use a bar utensil holder for kitchen

A black bar utensil holder on the side of a kitchen cabinet or wall is a great way to create extra storage space.

Use it to hang utensils or cutting board that fit the overall ambiance of your kitchen.

I love how the wood of these hanging cutting boards really adds to the charm of the kitchen.

5. Spices organized on acrylic shelves

A key trick to storing kitchen items on the outside, is by making them look aesthetically pleasing!

These acrylic shelves and spice jars are the perfect way to have a beautiful and organized kitchen.

6. Clever organization of cleaning products under the sink

Organizing the under-sink space can be daunting. It’s ideal for storing cleaning products, but you really want to make the most of the space!

I really love how Lela (the creator of the image), has organized her under sink space. The labels are also very aesthetically pleasing!

7. Use a tray to organize kitchen utensils

A round tray on the kitchen counter to organize utensils and other kitchen essentials is my favorite!

It’s an easy way to combine decor and practicality in a small kitchen.

All you need for this is:

  • a round tray
  • glass oil dispensers
  • ceramic utensil holder
  • uniform looking utensils

8. Double your kitchen cabinet space

Easily double your kitchen cabinet space by placing these cabinet stands on the shelves.

If you have lots of plates and cups, and limited kitchen cabinet space, these are going to be a life saver.

I also like them for organizing my pantry cabinets.

9. Utilizing the side of cabinets

This may not be a renter-friendly option for maximizing space, but this looks like an incredible use of space.

It’s also another cute spot to add decor, like they did with the tea towel.

This no-drill kitchen rail is a great alternative if you live in a rental.
